The head of referees of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA), Abdul Ebrahim, has praised the match officials who officiated the match between kaizer chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The match ended in controversy after Amakhosi‘s last-minute goal was ruled out. Masandawana’s second goal was also questioned as Lucas Ribeiro appeared to be offside before he made the pass to Iqraam Rayners.
After the match, angry fans threw objects at the officials, and police had to intervene to escort them off the field.
Speaking to SNL24, Safa’s Ebrahim said the two incidents that happened during the Chiefs and Sundowns game would be reviewed.
“The referees did very well, and the review will do the necessary and then in the week, we will get the reports,” he stated.
“Of course, there will always be one or two incidents that will need to be reviewed and the review committee will have a look at it and get the footage before making their decision based on [the evidence] received.”

There have been talks about the introduction of the latest technology in Mzansi, prompting Ebrahim to share the latest.
